Tea-rrific- CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our Close To My Heart March 2017 Tea-rrific Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop. If you have arrived here from Wendy Hopper's Expressions of the Heartthen you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today, I would like to share with you a few projects that I have designed and created featuring the March Stamp of the Month, Tea-rrific. This stamp set, which is featured in our NEW Seasonal Expressions 1 Idea Book, is available only in March 2017 for $27, or for just $7.50 when you spend $75 or more.

Tea-rrific is a completely "adorable", Mother's Day and friendship-themed stamp set that is perfect for creating Mother's Day cards, friendship-inspired cards and tags; special gifts for your loved-ones and whimsical scrapbook layouts.  The stamp set features cute tea cup images that can be coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin MarkersWatercolour Paints or Watercolour Pencils

My first project is a set of cute bookmarks! For those of you who have met me in real life, you already know that I LOVE BOOKS! I have a been an avid reader since I was very young and reading still brings me so much pleasure (even though these days I don't seem to have as much time to curl up with a good book as I would like to)!  Something that you may not know about me however, is that I collect bookmarks! True fact! I have A LOT of fun, beautiful, fabulous bookmarks in my collection! And now I have 2 more...

What do you think of these hand-crafted bookmarks? I created them using the super cute tea cup stack and "you are tea-rrific" stamps from the Tea-rrific March Stamp of the Month and the adorable turtle from the Some Kinda Wonderful Cardmaking stamp set. I stamped them on White Daisy Cardstock using the Black Memento Ink Pad and coloured them in using my ShinHan Touch Twin Markers. I mounted them on coloured Cardstock (Raspberry and Pacific) and added a coordinating bow cut from the Cricut! A little bit of bling in the form of a Gold Glitter Gem on each bow and you have two bookmarks!

For my next projects, I decided to create a couple of fun cards featuring the bookmarks as design elements on the cards.  Here is the Sugar Rush/ Raspberry version:

And here is the Some Kinda Wonderful/ Pacifica version:

I have adhered the front panels to the card using 3-D Foam Tape to give them some dimension and pop. These were super-easy and very quick cards to create and I think they work! Well I hope they do, as these two cards are going to feature in a couple of my upcoming cardmaking workshops this month!

My final project is a Mother's Day card for, you guessed it, my beautiful mum! Honestly, how can I ever thank my mum for all of her unconditional love, support and generosity over the years.  Well, I can start with a handmade card created with love and go from there!

This card has been created with strips of paper from the Hello Lovely Paper Packet as I just the love the softness of this paper so much and I think it is the perfect collection for Mother's Day cards! I stamped the tea cups and flowers using the Black Memento Ink Pad, cut them using my Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors before colouring them with my ShinHan Touch Twin Markers. I mounted them on White Daisy Cardstock, added a doodled border with my Black Journalling Pen, then adhered that to a Fern Cardstock mat before adding to the front of my card. I added some Clear Sparkles to the front of the card because every card must have bling! LOL! Don't you agree?

Easter Bunny- CTMH Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our Close To My Heart February 2017 Easter Bunny Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop. If you have arrived here from Maz Wood's aMAZing Close To My Heart Creationsthen you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today, I would like to share with you a few projects that I have created featuring the February Stamp of the Month, Easter Bunny. This stamp set, which is featured in our NEW Seasonal Expressions 1 Idea Book, is available only in February 2017 for $27, or for just $7.50 when you spend $75 or more.

Easter Bunny is a completely "adorable", Easter-themed stamp set that is perfect for creating Easter cards, spring and friendship-inspired cards and tags; special gifts for your loved-ones and whimsical scrapbook layouts.  The stamp set features cute bunny images that can be coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin MarkersWatercolour Paints or Watercolour Pencils

My first project is a sweet, simple card based on the card design on page 58 of the Seasonal Expressions Idea Book (January-April 2017). The soft watercolour pencils worked so well for shading the background and colouring the cute bunny and Easter basket. The Hello Lovely B&T (Background and Texture) paper suits this card design so beautifully and the zip strip from the top of the paper creates a simple yet effective trim.

I cut the circle from the new Basic Circles Thin Cuts which continue to come in very handy on card designs and page layouts.  I stamped the "Happy Easter" sentiment in Fern ink and finished the card with Gold Glitter Gems from the Hello Lovely creative collection. I just love how cute this card turned out and I can't wait to teach it at my upcoming February Creative Cardmaking Workshop.

Ingredients for creating the Happy Easter Card:
(You can find all of these products in my online shop)
    • Easter Bunny, February 2017 Stamp of the Month
    • 5 1/2" × 4 1/4" White Cards & Envelopes, Value Pack
    • 5 1/2" x 2" Hello Lovely B&T Paper
    • 5 1/2" zip strip from Hello Lovely B&T Paper
    • 3" x 3" White Daisy Cardstock (for cutting circle)
    • 2.5" x 2" White Daisy Cardstock (for stamping bunny and basket)
    • Black Memento Ink Pad
    • Fern Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad
    • CTMH Watercolour Pencils
    • Basic Circles Thin Cuts
    • Thin 3-D Foam Tape
    • 3-D Foam Tape
    • 3L® E-Z Dots® Adhesive
    • Gold Glitter Gems
    • Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors

My second project is a page layout based on the page design on page 58 of the Seasonal Expressions Idea Book (January-April 2017).  The small flowers on either side of the Sea Glass Cardstock on the base of the layout are coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers in bright, fun colours.

The bunnies are coloured with CTMH Watercolour Pencils for a softer look. Layering Vellum on top of the Fern and Sorbet Cardstock under the "There's nobody like you" sentiment gives the cardstock a muted, softer look also.

Of course I had to create a companion page for this adorable layout.  I used basically the same layout with the addition of a mat for a 5" x 7" photo and fun journalling strips. I can't wait to use these pages for some of our fun family photos this Easter.

Ingredients for creating the "There's Nobunny Like You" Double- page Layout:
(You can find all of these products in my online shop)
    • Easter Bunny, February 2017 Stamp of the Month
    • Hello Lovely B&T Paper
    • White Daisy Cardstock
    • Colonial White Cardstock
    • Sea Glass Cardstock
    • Sorbet Cardstock
    • Fern Cardstock
    • White Glitter Paper
    • Striped Vellum from Uptown Fundamentals Paper Packet
    • Black Memento Ink Pad
    • CTMH Watercolour Pencils
    • ShinHan Touch Twin Markers
    • Thin 3-D Foam Tape
    • 3L® E-Z Dots® Adhesive
    • Dreamin' Big Sequins
    • Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I wanted my final project to have a fun "bunny-love" theme. I teamed the February Stamp of the Month with Hello Lovely B&T papers once again. This card also features the heart balloons from the True Love Operation Smile stamp set and the cute banner and "You're the Sweetest" sentiment from the Sugar Rush Cardmaking Thin Cuts Bundle

I used my ShinHan Touch Twin Markers to colour the heart balloons and the adorable flower border behind the bunnies, but I used my CTMH Watercolour Pencils to shade the background and colour the bunnies. I added a splash of shimmer with Gold Glitter Paper behind the sentiment and Gold Glitter Gems to embellish the card.

Ingredients for creating the "You're the sweetest" Valentine's Day Card:  (You can find all of these products in my online shop)

    Love You Card Design

I've been creating with the January Stamp of the Month, Adore You again!

This card was created in no time at all.  I used left over Pocket Cards from the Sugar Rush Workshops Your Way Scrapbooking Kit. I cut down the Tangerine Pocket Card to 4" x 5 1/4" to fit our standard card and stamped "You" onto the Love Pocket Card in Black Memento Ink before adhering it to the front of the card.

Next, I stamped the flower image in Black Memento Ink and coloured the image with my ShinHan Touch Twin Markers- Golden Yellow, Marigold, Carmine, Leaf Green and Sap Green before fussy cutting around the outside with my Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors.

Finally, I adhered the image with Thin 3-D Foam Tape, added a gold heart from the Sugar Rush Complements and decorated with Sugar Rush Dots.

Remember, the January Stamp of the Month, Adore You is only available throughout January 2017 from my online shop for $27, or for just $7.50 when you spend $75 or more.

    Crafty hugs,
    Denise :)

Adore You- CTMH Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our Close To My Heart January 2017 Adore You Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop. If you have arrived here from Chris Wooward's Woodies-creations, then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today, I would like to share with you a few projects that I have created featuring the January Stamp of the Month, Adore You. This stamp set, which is featured in our NEW Seasonal Expressions 1 Idea Book, is available only in January 2017 for $27, or for just $7.50 when you spend $75 or more.

Adore You is a completely "adorable", love-themed stamp set that is perfect for creating Valentine's Day, thank you and friendship-inspired cards and tags; special gifts for your loved-ones and swoon-worthy scrapbook layouts.  The stamp set features heart and floral images that can be coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers, Watercolour Paints or Watercolour Pencils.

My first project is a sweet Valentine's Day page layout. The original design for the page layout comes from a scrapbooking workshop I designed using the NEW Sugar Rush creative collection that is featured in the Seasonal Expressions 1 Idea Book.  I thought the layout would look fabulous with the cute floral heart stamp from the Adore You Stamp of the Month. I stamped the image and sentiment using the Black Memento Ink Pad and coloured in the flowers using my ShinHan Touch Twin Markers. Now the layout is ready for some fun Valentine's Day photos of me and my hubby!

My second project is a simple love-themed card.  I created this card using Thistle Cardstock, Thistle patterned paper from the Whimsy Fundamentals and Gold Shimmer Trim.  I stamped the floral heart image onto White Daisy Cardstock that I painted with CTMH Watercolour Paints and coloured the flowers using ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  I stamped the sentiment using the Black Memento Ink Pad.

My third project is based on one of the optional card designs from the NEW Sugar Rush Workshops Your Way Scrapbooking Kit. I used the free instructional guide to create the basic card layout and then added the stamped heart to the front to complete the design.

To create the floral heart embellishment, I painted a piece of White Daisy Cardstock with a red ombre (dark to light) watercolour wash using my CTMH Watercolour Paints and large flat paintbrush. Once dried, I stamped the floral heart image onto the painted cardstock using the Black Memento Ink Pad and then coloured the flowers using my Shin Han Touch Twin Markers. I cut out the floral heart image using my Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors and attached the heart with Thin 3-D Foam Tape.

My final project is a fun, monochromatic card design.  For this card, I have carried the one colour theme through from the Raspberry Cardstock base, into the Raspberry stamped heart and finally into the colour of the flowers using my Cherry Pink ShinHan Touch Twin Marker.

I really like this simple monochromatic look that is broken only by the Black Cardstock mat, green leaves and the Gold Glitter Gems from the NEW Hello Lovely creative collection.

The following four cards all use the same simple layout, but feature different colours from the Adventure colour family- Lagoon, Blossom, Pansy and Lemon.  I love the bright, fun look of these cards.  Yes, there was a bit of "fussy cutting" involved, but I believe they were worth the effort! What do you think?

Ingredients for creating the Monochromatic cards:
(You can find all of these products in my online shop)

    • Adore You, January 2017 Stamp of the Month
    • 5 1/2" × 4 1/4" White Cards & Envelopes, Value Pack

    • 3 7/8" x 2 3/4" Black Cardstock
    • 3 5/8" x 2 1/2" White Daisy Cardstock
    • Black Memento Ink Pad
    • ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (I've used Peony Purple, Turquoise Blue, Golden Yellow, Tender Pink, Cherry Pink, Leaf Green and Sap Green)
    • Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (I've used Pansy, Lagoon, Lemon, Blossom and Raspberry)
