Choose Happy- CTMH March Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our CTMH March 2015 Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop. If you have arrived here from Doris Taylor's  Creative Inspirations, then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today, I would like to share with you a card project that features the March Stamp of the Month 'Choose Happy'.  This stamp set is available only in March 2015 for $27, or for just $5 when you spend $75. It is the latest of 12 glorious, exclusive Stamp of the Month stamp sets featured in our CTMH 2014- 2015 Annual Inspirations Idea Book!

This is such a cute stamp set, perfect for creating embellishments for page layouts, gift bags and cards.  The fun doodled borders are perfect for framing pages and cards and the fun frames are great for enhancing these adorable sentiments.

I just love the Heartstrings Paper Packet from the Seasonal Expressions 1 Idea Book.  The papers are so fresh and feminine! I particularly love the rose B&T paper from this Paper Packet.  I wanted to use the paper to create a set of decorative cards featuring the March Stamp of the Month.

I started with two sheets of the rose B&T paper from the Heartstrings Paper Packet and used my SureCut™ Deluxe Craft Paper Trimmer to cut each sheet of paper into six (6) pieces measuring 3 3/4” x 5”.  You can see that there are two different ways that you can cut the 6 pieces from the paper- landscape and portrait.   There will also be small off-cuts left over to play with later!

I then used my SureCut™ Deluxe Craft Paper Trimmer to cut Hollyhock, Cranberry, Whisper and Slate Cardstock into pieces measuring 4” x 5 1/4”.  I cut three of each to make a total of 12 pieces of Cardstock.

I mounted the rose B&T paper on the Cardstock and adhered them to the White Daisy card bases.    Don't you love how the decorative paper creates these beautiful card fronts so quickly and easily?  This is a lovely way to use our gorgeous B&T paper to decorate cards and you might like to try it yourself.

I stamped the frames and a range of sentiments from the March Stamp of the Month and the Artfully Sent   'Just to Say' Stamp Set onto White Daisy Cardstock using the Slate Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad.

I then coloured them using our gorgeous ShinHan Touch Twin Markers in co-ordinating colours.  You'll notice that I didn't colour all of the white space on the stamped image.  Instead, I chose to highlight particular features on the image with colour and left parts uncoloured as the rose B&T paper I was putting the images on was already very colourful and I didn't want it to be too busy.

Even though the frames have some quite intricate decorations on them, they are very quick and easy to colour in if you use the fine tip end of the ShinHan Touch Twin Marker and a light touch.  I fussy cut around the outside and added 3-D Foam Tape to the back of each framed sentiment.  My Non-Stick Micro-Tip Scissors came in very handy when I was fussy cutting these out, let me tell you! I love the way these amazing little scissors get into the smallest spaces and around the tightest corners.  I would be lost without them!

I then added a strip of Silver or Teal Shimmer Trim to each card (because who doesn't LOVE a bit of shimmer) and adhered the frames to the front of the cards.

I made a total of 12 cards from these two sheets of the rose B&T paper from the Heartstrings Paper Packet! How great is that?  And so quick and easy too!

February means Happy!

A Happy Hello! Today, I wanted to share this gorgeous card with you. It's inspired by a design from one of my Crafty Hearts team members, Julie and features the February Stamp of the Month, A Happy Hello.  Julie shared her card at our recent Crafty Hearts' Team Playday and I decided to play with her design a little to create my own! Don't you just love it!

I adore the layered look of the flowers and the little strips of Green Glitter Paper used to frame the design. On this card I have used Hollyhock Cardstock, White Daisy Cardstock, Hollyhock, Pixie, Canary and Cocoa Exclusive Inks Stamp Pads and 3D Foam Tape to create the layered flowers.

If you'd like to check out other designs using A Happy Hello, visit my February Stamp of the Month Pinterest Board as I have pinned lots of ideas for you here!

Here are a couple more gorgeous cards I thought you might enjoy.  These are designed by the very talented members of the art team at Close To My Heart using the February Stamp of the Month.  Don't you agree that the colours featured are just perfect with this stamp set! The February Stamp of the Month, A Happy Hello really is a beautiful stamp set that can be used in so many creative ways on cards and on pages to add a touch of happiness!  The stamp set is available only in February 2015 for $27, or for just $5 when you spend $75.

Don't forget that the amazing Album Allure offer ends on 28 February 2015. A Happy Hello- CTMH February Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our CTMH February 2015 Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop. If you have arrived here from Jenny's Blog The Creative Heart, then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you a quick card project which features the February Stamp of the Month 'A Happy Hello' which is available only in February 2015 for $27, or for just $5 when you spend $75. This stamp set is the latest of 12 glorious, exclusive Stamp of the Month stamp sets featured in our CTMH 2014- 2015 Annual Inspirations Idea Book!

The card I have created combines the February Stamp of the Month, A Happy Hello, with my favourite new stamp set from the Seasonal Expressions 1 Idea Book, Brushstrokes.  I just love how quickly and easily you can create a bright, colourful canvas with the stamps in the Brushstrokes stamp set on which to highlight stamped images and sentiments.

Here, I chose to stamp a colourful rainbow backdrop on which to feature the simple branch image from the Stamp of the Month (stamped in Cocoa).  Stamped straight onto White Daisy Cardstock and matted on Lagoon Cardstock, I hope I have achieved a clean, simple design that is still fun and bright.

I love the addition of the Epoxy Bubbles to this card design.  I stuck clear bubbles onto the end of the each of the branches and then coloured them with the fine tip of the Cherry Pink ShinHan Touch Twin Marker.  I just love that we can use our markers to change the colour of embellishments such as these bubbles, as well as our Clear Sparkles, Silver Sequins,  White Enamel Stars and even our White Shimmer Trim!

I stamped the "A Happy Hello" sentiment in Cocoa and then mounted it onto Pacifica Cardstock after dovetailing the ends of both pieces of Cardstock.  (P.S. Watch this short video if you want to get a flawless dovetail every time!)

I then used Thin 3-D Foam Tape and 3-D Foam Tape to adhere the matted stamped images to the card base (because I love layers on my cards) and finished the card off with three silver Triangle Studs adhered just under the sentiment.

The finished card fits in a standard business size envelope and measures 4" x 8 1/4" (when folded).

I used the following ingredients to create this simple card project:

February Stamp of the Month, A Happy Hello
Brushstrokes stamp set
8" x 8 1/4" White Daisy Cardstock (fold at 4" to create the card base)
3 3/16" x 6 1/2" Lagoon Cardstock (for matting stamped image)
2 7/8" x 6" White Daisy Cardstock (for stamping brushstrokes and branch)
3 1/2" x 1" White Daisy Cardstock (for stamping "A Happy Hello" sentiment)
3 3/4" x 1 1/4" Pacifica Cardstock (for matting stamped sentiment)
Cranberry Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad
Sorbet Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad
Honey Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad
Pear Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad
Lagoon Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad
Pacifica Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad
Gypsy Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad
Cocoa Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad
ShinHan Touch Twin Marker- Cherry Pink
Epoxy Bubbles- Black and Grey
Durables Triangle Studs
Thin 3-D Foam Tape
3-D Foam Tape

Well I hope you like my card featuring the February Stamp of the Month.  Please do leave a comment below before you hop onto the next stop on our Australasian Blog Hop, Maz Wood's Inky Fingers to see more creative ways to use the February Stamp of the Month.
