You Make Me Happy!

I've been playing in The Crafty Shed today.  On my days off, it is my favourite place to be.  It really is my "Happy Place." It's the place where I can relax and be inspired.  I can make as much of a mess as I like and then have fun cleaning it up at the end of the day.  I have room to spread out and access to an endless supply of herbal tea!

So, you might be wondering what I was creating in The Crafty Shed today...

I have to admit that I just can't get enough of the cute March Stamp of the Month, Sunshine Birdies.  Even the name makes me happy!  For anyone who loves colouring-in, this stamp set really is a dream come true.  The images are just so adorable, they stamp perfectly and you can colour them in with your CTMH Watercolour Pencil, Watercolour Paints or ShinHan Touch Twin Markers- the choice is yours!

Well I decided to create a very quick 5 minute card.  Unlike my previous cards that I shared on my Blog earlier this month, this one doesn't feature any of the adorable images.  I've kept things simple, just using the "You Make Me Happy" sentiment, three Cricut-cut flowers (I admit they were already cut and just laying around on my workbench) and some strips of Adventure Fundamentals Paper to create this colourful card.

The original idea for the card's background came from this cute card by Lisa Plummer featuring the February Stamp of the Month.  I loved the Fundamentals strips with the dove-tailed ends so much, that I decided to use them on my own card design.  Don't you just love it when you see a card or an element on a card that inspires your own creativity?  I know I do!

I added an extra pop of colour by colouring in ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

Ingredients used in this card include:
White Card and Envelope (Value Pack)
Adventure Fundamentals Paper
2 1/4" x 2 3/4" White Daisy Cardstock
2 1/2" x 3" Cranberry Cardstock
ShinHan Touch Twin Markers
Sequins, Silver Assortment
3L E-Z Dots Adhesive
3-D Foam Tape

So now I had better head back to "reality". There is dinner to plan, children to collect and chores to be done! OK, I have to admit it, that's my "Happy Place" too!

Warmest crafting wishes,
Denise :)
